Russia recalls its ambassador to Ukraine

Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Monday night, February 24, that the Russian Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov had been summoned to Moscow for consultations.

Earlier on Sunday, February 23, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in a telephone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry that Moscow insists on full implementation of the agreement on a political settlement, concluded two days earlier. Lavrov said that these agreements are being violated by the Ukrainian opposition that had seized power in Kiev, ANS reports.
