Russian ex-Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov has asked for amnesty. His request will be considered in the near future, Interfax reports.
Russia will implement an amnesty for the 20th anniversary of the Constitution after the end of the Olympic Games.
Serdyukov is charged with negligence in a case of mass corruption. He may be fined or jailed for up to 3 months. The amnesty may free him from any punishments.
Heinrich Padva, Serdyukov’s lawyer, denied filing any amnesty requests.
