US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns said at a meeting with Ukrainian Acting President Alexander Turchinov that Ukraine should form a new government of national solidarity, said spokeswoman of the US State Department Jen Psaki, ITAR-TASS reports.
She noted that Burns was in Kiev and had meetings with other political leaders of the country, religious figures, businessmen and representatives of the public.
Burns urged Ukraine to form the government as soon as possible and start reforms to restore the economic and political life in the country. Psaki emphasized that Burns discussed the situation in Ukraine with EU Chief Diplomat Catherine Ashton.
