Syrian chemical weapons will be moved out of the country by late April. Most chemicals will be ready for delivery to Port Latakia by April 13. Two more batches of chemical weapons will be taken to the port by April 27, RIA Novosti reports.
The OPCW said yesterday that a fourth batch of mustard gas has been moved. It is a priority chemical for decomposition at America’s MV Cape Ray.
Sigrid Kaag, head of the OPCW and UN mission, said that the batch of mustard gas was moved from Syria on Wednesday.
Syrian chemical weapons were supposed to be moved by December 31. About 20 tons of mustard gas will be moved by March 31 and destroyed by late June.
