The Russian authorities have been working on a bill to simplify procedures for conferring nationality on CIS citizens, said Alexander Zhukov, Vice Speaker of the Lower House of the Russian Parliament and a member of the United Russia Party, RIA Novosti reports.
Ilya Drozdov of the LDPR proposed simplifying citizenship rules for Ukrainian citizens of Russian origin. The CPRF proposed its own project to simplify procedures for Russian-speaking people in post-Soviet states who suffer discrimination.
