Ukrainian fugitive President Victor Yanukovych has found himself a refuge in Russia. He has admitted his request for political asylum in Russia today, RIA Novosti reports.
The politician says that his team and he himself are hiding from extremists. Despite his run to Russia, Yanukovych considers himself the President of Ukraine and insists that he has given no orders to interfere in political events of the country.
According to a source in the Russian government, Moscow agreed to give Yanukovych asylum. He has asked for personal security.
