Russian PM wants easier citizenship procedures for foreigners needed in Russian economy

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev believes that foreigners whom the Russian economy needs should undergo simpler procedures in order to gain citizenship, he stated at a government session on amendments to the law on citizenship, RIA Novosti reports.The legislative initiative will simplify citizenship rules for foreigners with a professional education in Russian education and scientific organizations who have worked in Russia for at least 3 years.Entrepreneurs will gain advantages for working for 3 years in Russia with an annual income of at least 10 million rubles. Their assets in any legal body should total at least 100 million rubles and tax payments of at least 6 million rubles or 10%.Simplification of citizenship rules will be made simultaneously with prevention of illegal migration
