Leonid Slutsky, head of the Russian parliamentary committee for the CIS, Eurasian integration and contacts with compatriots, has proposed the formation of a confederation in Ukraine, Interfax reports.
Slutsky paid special attention to the fulfillment of the agreement Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovych signed with the opposition on February 21. Germany, France and Poland took part in the process. Initially, there were plans for constitutional reform, then a referendum and then presidential polls. The official believes that the polls on May 25 are too hasty.
