Russian president discusses Ukraine with British PM, German Chancellor and EU Council's chair

Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed the ongoing political crisis in Ukraine with British Prime Minister David Cameron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Chariman of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy.

The parties have called for a peaceful solution to the crisis and stressed the importance of avoiding an escalation of the conflict.
