Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed the Ukrainian crisis with US President Barack Obama and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.
The US president expressed deep concern about possible Russian military operation on the territory of Ukraine. President Putin for his part voiced the Russian government's intention "to protect the Russian population in Ukraine."
