According to Russian Premier Vladimir Putin, there will be no war in the North Caucasus because the militants lack support among the population, Yuga.ru reports, citing the newspaper ‘Komsomolskaya Pravda’. Putin said that the militants are only capable of isolated terrorist attacks.
The premier explained that the events in the region are more a matter of clans than terrorism. They are redistributing spheres of influence. However, Vladimir Putin said that destructive processes are still at an extremely high level in the region.
