Russian Emergency Ministry sends humanitarian aid to South Ossetia

The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has sent humanitarian aid to South Ossetia. According to ITAR-TASS, citing the Information Department of the ministry, at 11.06 Moscow time an Il-76 plane carrying humanitarian cargo lifted off heading to Tskhinvali.


The plane carries food, utensils and mattresses. The overall weight is 30 tons. The ministry noted that humanitarian aid is provided as part of an inter-departmental humanitarian aid program.
