The population of the Crimean Peninsula has asked the Russian Public Chamber to monitor the upcoming referendum on status of the autonomy. Vladimir Grib, Deputy Secretary of the consultative organ of the Public Chamber, said at discussions of the Ukraine crisis that a group of observers will be dispatched in three weeks, RIA Novosti reports.
He noted that a delegation of the Public Chamber returned from Crimea.
Crimea will hold the referendum on March 30 or earlier.
