Azerbaijani president welcomes heads of diplomatic missions from Muslim countries

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has welcomed the ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions of Muslim countries in Azerbaijan for to the sacred month of Ramadan, 1news.az reports.


He congratulated them and asked them to send his greetings and congratulations to the heads of their states and governments.


Aliyev talked about the importance of strengthening ties between all Muslim countries and about Muslim solidarity.


The president also spoke about events held in Baku assisted by the Organization of Islamic Conference. He also noted that Baku was appointed the capital of the Muslim world in 2009.


Talking about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Aliyev noted the justified position of Muslim countries concerning the settlement.


Uzbek ambassador Ismatill Yergashov congratulated Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people on behalf of all ambassadors and heads diplomatic missions of Muslim countries in Azerbaijan.


The ambassador said that Azerbaijan provides stability and dynamic development in the South Caucasus. He said that the position of Muslim countries on Nagorno-Karabakh issue will not change.
