The First Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea, Rustam Temirgaliev, said that the
leadership of the Crimea region is preparing for entry into the ruble zone,
if the majority of residents of the Crimean Peninsula in the referendum
support entry into Russia.
"Naturally, as a part of Russia, we will be in the Russian economic
conditions, and, accordingly, in the ruble zone. We are preparing for
entry into the ruble zone in case of a positive decision by the overwhelming
majority of Crimeans and the consent of the authorized agencies of Russia," RIA
Novosti quotes Temirgaliev.
The Crimean parliament earlier decided to move the referendum to March 16.
