During a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Rome, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry suggested that Russia and Ukraine should speak directly. He also suggested bringing international observers to the Crimea and eastern regions of Ukraine.
"The Secretary of State stressed the importance of Russians talking directly to Ukrainians. They also discussed the possible format of such dialogue. Secretary Kerry also insisted on the importance of allowing jinternational observers to go to Crimea and eastern Ukraine to study the situation on the ground," RIA Novosti quotes the State Department spokesman.
