The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, praised the operation in Tsentroi, YUGA.ru reports.
"We knew that the gunmen might come to the suburbs of Tsentroi 16 days ago. As a result the gunmen did not manage to maintain the element of surprise."
He said that the task of the gunmen was to get into the village, burn houses and shoot people.
"We were waiting for them. The operation was over in 15 minutes. Now our aim is to find and punish the organizers and helpers."The president of Chechnya also said that the organizer was the leader of the gunmen, Aslambek Vadalov, RIA Novosti reports.
