Iranian billionaire Babak Zanjani has been accused of oil-related corruption schemes, according to Judge Amin-Hossein Rahimi, RIA Novosti reports.
After sanctions were imposed on the Iranian National Oil Company, the company ordered Zanjani to export its oil for about $3 billion. Zanjani gave the company no guarantees, which was a violation.
Zanjani owns assets in Turkey, UAE, Malaysia. Iranian mass media reported in mid-February that he was detained for theft of state funds via oil deals
