Kiev to dissolve Crimean parliament

255 MPs of the 226 needed have voted for a document demanding that the Crimean parliament reconsider its March 6 decision to join Russia by March 12, otherwise it will be dissolved, RIA Novosti reports.

The Crimean parliament voted for a referendum on the status of the peninsula on March 16. Voters will be asked whether they want to join Russia and restore the 1992 Constitution of Crimea. The Crimean parliament passed a Declaration of Independence from Ukraine and plans to join Russia. Sevastopol approved the document.
