The European Parliament has approved the simplified visa regime and readmission between the EU and Azerbaijan, ITAR-TASS reports.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev passed the visa and readmission agreement on Friday. The document was signed in November 2013.
According to the new rules, visas for Azerbaijan will be issued in 10 days, in 2 days in urgent cases. A visa application will cost €35. The list of documents needed for visas will be shortened for people with relatives in the EU, members of delegations, students, teachers, businessmen, scientists and journalists. Diplomats will get multi-use visas.
The simplified visa regime is being adopted according to the Eastern Partnership program for Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
