The European Parliament has halted cooperation with the Russian parliament until the end of the crisis in Crimea, as stated in a resolution European legislators plan to discuss today, Liga.net reports.
Intervention of Russia in Crimea is a violation of the international law and the Budapest Memorandum. European legislators call Russian President Vladimir Putin’s excuse for aggression unjustified.
The European Parliament will no longer continue talks on visas and G8 summit with Russia. It may also impose bans on entering and leaving the EU, freeze assets and cancel the Russia-EU summit.
G8 states have already urged Russia to stop annexing Crimea.
