UN chief urges Moscow-Kiev dialogue

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has called for direct dialogue between Moscow and Kiev at a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk and Acting Foreign Minister Andrey Deshitsa, ITAR-TASS reports.Ban said that the sides should respect principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, peaceful settlement of conflicts, respect of human rights, as stated in the UN Charter.The UNSC plans to consider the resolution project on protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine on Saturday, presented by the US. Australian Permanent Representative to the UN Gary Quinlan said yesterday that the document should be passed before the Crimea referendum.
