US General Paul Selva, Commander of the US Air Mobility Command, said that Azerbaijan may replace Russia as a territory for transit to Afghanistan and back, 1news.az reports.
The NATO may use the route through the Mediterranean and Caspian Seas, should Russia close the Northern Shipping Network. Countries using the Mediterranean-Caspian route want to continue cooperation to boost the New Silk Road project.
