Ukraine to mobilize some 40,000 troops

The parliament of Ukraine has passed President Oleksandr Turchynov’s decree on partial mobilization. 275 MPs voted in favor, ITAR-TASS reports.All regions of Ukraine and Kiev, Crimea and Sevastopol will begin to sign up volunteers. Andrey Parubiy, Acting Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, said that mobilization will take 45 days.The decree puts the Armed Forces, National Guards and other formations and rescue services under a war-time regime.20,000 will be drafted as volunteers. 20,000 more will join the National Guards.
