Leaders of Caspian states may hold summit on September 29

Russia proposed postponement of the summit of leaders of Caspian states from April 22 to September 29, according to Russian Ambassador to Iran Levan Jagaryan. The summit will be hosted by Astrakhan, APA reports.

The diplomat said that Iran had not responded to the request yet.

The summit will focus on the legal status of the Caspian Sea and its ecological state. Concerning the current state of affairs, Jagaryan noted that there were certain difference between the Caspian countries. He reminded that each of them had been pursuing its own interests since the collapse of the USSR in 1990.
