The UN General Assembly will have a plenary session for Ukraine on March 20, said Afaf Konja, spokeswoman of the Chairman of the 68th session of the UNGA John Ashe, ITAR-TASS reports.
The session was initiated by Ukrainian Permanent Representative to the UN Yuri Sergeyeev.
Russia vetoed the UNSC resolution against the Crimea referendum. Kiev hopes that a similar resolution can be passed by the UNGA. According to the UN Charter, resolutions of the General Assembly are not obligatory.
