Ella Pamfilova has become the Russian Ombudswoman for human rights, replacing Vladimir Lukin whose term of office expired in February 2014.Pamfilova was approved by the lower house of the Russian parliament today. Pamfilova was introduced for the post by President Vladimir Putin in January 2014.
