Medvedev to talk trade, economics during Azerbaijan visit


Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is to discuss bilateral trade and
economic cooperation, as well as the Caspian Sea issue during his
visit to Azerbaijan on September 2-3, presidential aide Sergey
Prikhodko said, reports RIA-Novosti. A treaty on state borders and an
intergovernmental agreement on the reasonable use of the Samur river
are to be signed, he added. As part of the agreement, a
Russian-Azerbaijani commission for water distribution will be created.
Various joint projects concerning the Caspian Sea are to be developed.
On September 2 Medvedev is to lay a wreath on Heydar Aliev's grave and
to visit an official dinner on behalf of Ilham Aliev. The next day
negotiations are to take place. An agreement between the Russian and
the Azerbaijani gas companies Gazprom and SOCAR on a gas transit
increase in 2011-2012 is also expected.
