The results of the Crimean referendum have been recognized by Kyrgyzstan.
"The results of the referendum in Crimea reveal the will of an absolute majority of the population in the region, they show an objective reality," RIA Novosti quotes a message of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry.
In this regard, Kyrgyzstan believes that "all initiatives and actions must be directed solely at preserving the fragile peace and stability in Ukraine and the region. Forceful measures are unacceptable." Official Bishkek, as noted in the statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is still of the opinion that the previous government of Ukraine is to blame for the destabilization in the country. Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry also urged all parties "to exercise maximum restraint and to resolve all disputes under international law and the UN Charter."
