South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov has set the parliamentary polls for June 8, according to the Constitution and the law on elections of members of parliament (December 19, 2008), ITAR-TASS reports.
The parliament’s terms of office expire on May 31. 15 political parties may campaign. The parliament of South Ossetia consists of 34 members and it is formed via a proportional system.
