Russian president signs bill on unification with Crimea into law

On Friday Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the bill joining Crimea with Russia into law. The official ceremony held in the Kremlin was attended by Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko and Speaker of the State Duma Sergey Naryshkin, RIA Novosti reports.

 

According to the document, the period of transition is expected to last until January 1, 2015. During this period the region is set to be incorporated into Russia's financial, legal and economic systems.
