Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered establishment of the Crimean Federal District. The presidential staff is now set to determine the structure of the future office of the presidential envoy to the region.
President Putin signed a bill adjoining the Crimea into law on Friday. Earlier Putin and Crimean Prime Minister Sergey Aksyonov had signed a corresponding agreement.
