Alexander Khloponin, the Russian presidential envoy to the North
Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), met Azerbaijani Premier Artur
Rasi-zade in Yessentuki, as part of the delegation of Russian
President Dmitry Medvedev, the press-service of Khloponin reports.
The Azerbaijani premier was on vacation in Kislovodsk. At the meeting,
Artur Rasi-zade and Khloponin exchanged opinions on the key issues of
Russian-Azerbaijani ties. They both agreed that the official visit of
Medvedev to Baku and his negotiations with Azerbaijani President
Ilkham Aliyev will give a new boost to the further strengthening of
strategic partnership between the two countries.
Khloponin informed Rasi-zade about the proposals within the program of
the delegation. It includes various aspects of bilateral relations,
including the expansion of inter-regional ties between Russia and
Azerbaijan. There will be a scheduled presentation of the
social-economic program for Russian subjects of the North Caucasus.
The sides agreed to emphasize the improvement in cooperation in
trade-economic and humanitarian spheres.Artur Rasi-zade thanked the
Russian side for the welcome in Kislovodsk.
