Registration of candidates for the Turkmenistan Mejlis ends

Turkmenistan has completed the registration procedure for the applicants for two seats in the Majlis of the country; the winners will be determined on April 20 through re-elections, the CEC reports.

"Meetings with voters are taking place. As is known, the main principle of this campaign is a broad alternative basis, serving as the prerequisite for further strengthening of the traditional democratic traditions of Turkmen society," Trend quotes CEC representatives.

In addition, the CEC has decided to establish electoral commissions in districts No. 99 "Kemin" and No. 103 " Zarpchy" of the Mary velayat (region).

As VK previously reported, elections will be held in connection with the early termination of the office terms of some MPs and the need to choose new incumbents of their seats.
