Hearings in the case of Sayid Amirov, ex-Mayor of Makhachkala, and Yusup Japarov, his nephew and ex-deputy head of Kaspiysk, will take place in the North-Caucasus District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don on April, Yuga.ru reports.
The two are accused of terrorism and attempt to murder Sagid Murtazaliyev, a political opponent of Amirov and head of the Dagestani Pension Fund. Amirov is also charged with murdering investigator Arsen Gajibekov. The suspect denies guilt.
Russian Deputy Prosecutor General Victor Grin requested trial at the North Caucasus District Military Court for the safety of people involved in the process.
Amirov’s lawyer Vladimir Postanyuk said that the hearings will start at 10.00AM. Judge Oleg Volkov will chair the process.
