Today's dismissal of the government headed by Serik Akhmetov didn't stir the Kazakh public, political analyst Pyotr Svoik told Vestnik Kavkaza. President Nazarbayev decided to fire the prime minister because he could not fulfil his task.
According to the expert, the Kazakh economy as well as the Russian one has exhausted the potentialities of oil and gas exports and can no longer develop properly.
In such a situation the cabinet is expected to take decisive measures to encourage economic growth. It was quite clear that the Akhmetov government was not capable of doing that, the expert said.
