A bill which, in particular, extends the powers of the FSB in the fight against terrorism and introduces a series of articles on the sentence of life imprisonment for terrorist crimes, was proposed for the second reading to the State Duma.
This document is one of three antiterrorism bills introduced in the State Duma in mid-January from four Duma factions headed by the chairman of the Duma's security committee Irina Yarovaya.
Under the bill it is proposed to expand the powers of the Federal Security Service, allowing them not only to check identity documents but also to conduct searches and transport inspection if there is reason to suspect those people of committing crimes, RIA Novosti reported.
