Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makey has become the CIS chairman-in-office, taking the post from Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports.
Makey emphasized that the main goal throughout his chairmanship would be to strengthen good-neighbour relations between members of the Commonwealth.
Kiev ditched chairmanship in the CIS this year. Andrey Parubiy, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council declared plans to quit the CIS.
