Azerbaijan has put the Qabala Radar (shut down in December 2012, leased by Russia in mid-2013) off the list of facilities of the Armed Forces, APA reports.
A commission was formed by the Cabinet on December 11, 2012, to work on closing the radar down. Property of the radar will be distributed among other military bases.
It is currently on the asset list of the State Committee for Property Issues. The police are protecting the territory and property of the radar station. Fate of the Qabala Radar will be decided after mine-clearing, radiological and ecologicalstudies.
