Valery Gerasimov, chief of the Russian General Staff, is chairing a session of the CIS Committee of Chiefs of Staff in Baku. Azerbaijan is hosting the Committee for the first time.
Attendants of the session visited the Honorary Alley, tomb of Azerbaijani National Leader Heydar Aliyev and ophthalmologist Zarifa Aliyeva.
The Committee will discuss military cooperation until 2020, joint drills in 2015, Joint System for State Radar Identification, status of engineer forces of the CIS Armed Forces in mine-clearing operations, exchange of geographic information.
Armenia is not taking part in the session.
