PACE commission supports draft resolution against Russia

The Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has supported a draft resolution, which if adopted will deprive Russia of its voice in the body, the Deputy Head of the Russian delegation at PACE, the Chairman of the State Duma's Committee for CIS Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, is quoted as saying by ITAR-TASS.

The move is being taken in response to Russia's annexation of Crimea, which has already been condemned by the EU, the US and the UN.
