Vladimir Sazhin, a senior scientist of the RAS IOS, told Vestnik Kavkaza that the main result of the two-day meeting of Iran and the Group of Six had not changed since the Geneva meeting of November 24, 2013. He reminded that there was time until July 20 to reach a final agreement and resolve the nuclear dispute. In his opinion, the positive aspect was in the fact that the agreements reached on November 24 were being fulfilled, as three out of nine points had been settled.
Sazhin noted that Iran needed to fit into obligations within the framework of the IAEA and the UNSC, find common grounds on construction of the Arak heavy-water reactor (the reactor can produce up to 9kg of plutonium, enough to build nuclear weapons), cooperate with the international society. He doubts that Iran would have problems with cooperation, it has constructed the Bushehr nuclear power plant with Russia according to standards of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
