Azerbaijan's Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman), Elmira Suleymanova, has had a meeting in Baku with the project coordinator of the OSCE, Alexis Shakhtakhtinsky, the press service of the Ombudsman reports.
At the meeting prospects of further cooperation in the field of human rights were discussed. Suleymanova noted that she attaches great importance to mutual cooperation with the OSCE in the field of human rights, Trend reports.
She offered to coordinate activities and hold joint seminars for government agencies, NGOs and the media, to direct the financial aid towards the most important goals, and invite experts to international awareness seminars, as well as to share experiences and opinions in general.
The Ombudsman also talked about the 12th Baku International Conference of Ombudsmen to be held on June 18 and dedicated to the theme "The role of national human rights institutions in ensuring the rights of women."
Shakhtakhtinsky noted that the OSCE Office in Baku is interested in cooperation with the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan.
