Ukrainian prosecutors open case on Tsarev

Kiev prosecutors have filed materials on Oleg Tsarev, a candidate for president and member of the Party of Regions, to the Ukrainian Unified Registry of Pre-Trial Studies for infringement of territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, Interfax reports.

The materials were initiated over his speeches in mass media, encouraging separatism. The Prosecutor General’s Office will request the parliament to remove Tsarev from the list of candidates for president. As a member of parliament, Tsarev is immune to prosecution.
