Azerbaijani Minister for Communication and High Technologies Ali Abbasov said at a meeting with the board of his ministry that about 60% of the population in the country was using satellite antennae for television.
Abbasov noted that TV broadcasting will become fully digital by the end of the year. It would expand the range of services for consumers.
About 98% of the country uses digital TV signal, in his words. Only distant areas had no digital broadcasts. Abbasov said that every citizen should have access to the 12 basic digital channels.
