The Ukrainian parliament plans to grant regions more authority as a concessions for the eastern parts of the country, according to Sergey Sobolev, head of the Fatherland fraction at the parliament, RIA Novosti reports.
Regions will be authorized to form city and district councils, form own budget policy. The Russian language will have a fixed status in the eastern regions.
