Members of the European Parliament have voted against the South Stream project. The decision has been made in the framework of the sanctions imposed on Russia after the country had taken conrol of the Crimea.
EU lawmakers have also urged the EU Council to be ready to impose additional sanctions on Russia, which target the country's economy rather than certain top officials.
