European Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger says any additional sanctions the EU may impose on Russia are not going to affect Russia's gas industry. The EU is not ready to stop buying Russian gas or considerably decrease the amount of purchased gas in the next several years, the official says.
"We believe that the gas sector should not be targeted by possible sanctions," the European Commissioner is quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
