Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that the pace for destruction of Syrian chemical weapons was “very good.” In his words, the UN and the OPCW were satisfied with the progress, RIA Novosti reports.
Lavrov noted that the U.S. had started complaining that the Syrian government had been dragging out the process from the very start.
The OPCW said that about 86.5% of chemical weapons (17 portions) had been moved from Syria. The OPCW characterized the pace of destruction of the chemical weapons skeptically.
