Russia withdraws forces from Ukrainian border

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu told U.S. Defense Secretary Chuch Hagel that Russian forces having drills at the Ukrainian border had been withdrawn, Interfax reports.

The Russian minister noted that Kiev had about 80 tanks and 130 armored vehicles and at least 60 artillery guns in the east of Ukraine. Combat aircraft were mobilized. The Ukrainian Army consists of 15,000 people.
